After two years of “exile” from the inner city following the closure of its former premises, the art association Kunstverein Familie Montez e.V. under the direction of Mirek Macke moved into its new home beneath the Honsell Bridge near Frankfurt‘s Hafenpark port park complex in the spring of 2014. The bridge was thoroughly overhauled and renovated between 2011 and 2013. With a splendid view of the Frankfurt skyline, its location is truly unique.
Underneath the bridge structure, the art association actively enriches cultural life in Frankfurt. The tone is set here by a creative mixture of fluffy, velvet-covered bar stools from the rough & tumble “Bahnhofsviertel” district near the central railway station, armchairs from the flea market, and “Bauhaus” style designer chairs.
As a result of this special location, events, exhibitions, concerts and performances have found a new “off the mainstream scene” venue in Frankfurt which preserves its authenticity and is open to one and all. A place for people, for art and culture that puts on no airs.
