START-UP! CATERING FOR “GRÜNDER” SCENE IN BERLIN

Once a year the “Gründergeist Ball” forms the highlight on the German scene that celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit that prevailed from the mid-19th century into the early 20th. So it was only natural for the Who’s Who among digital start-ups to hold a fantastic party night on 17 November on the historic premises at the erstwhile Imperial Main Telegraph Office. To fit the occasion there was an exclusive gala dinner for the 600 VIP guests.

A service team of 60 complemented by 8 barkeepers made every effort to ensure that the guests were provided with exclusive delectables and beverages into the wee hours of the morning.

The catering was prepared for any and all eventualities: within the framework of the discerning 3-course menu it goes without saying that vegetarian and vegan dishes were served as well.

The guests were initially welcomed with fanciful finger food. Among the options: confit prawn on a saffron kroepoek cracker and porcini mushroom with truffle crisp. After being welcomed personally in a brief speech given by the evening’s hosts, Paul Schwarzenholz and Dr Thomas Fischer, a 3-course menu was served that had been perfected down to the last detail. From root vegetables fresh from the garden to veal cooked sous vide and on to a refined dessert Japanese-style along with a superb midnight snack, every trick in the book of fine culinary arts was employed to pamper the guests.

Not only the guests were delighted by this truly out-of-the-ordinary evening. Despite all the work, the team from LPS had a great night at the ball, too!
